The Irish crime series Kin is officially returning for a third season, with RTÉ confirming its revival in July 2026. The announcement comes after two seasons of gritty storytelling centered on Michael Kinsella, played by Charlie Cox, a former hitman released from prison and thrust back into the volatile dynamics of his Dublin-based crime family.
Cox’s performance as the conflicted prodigal son — soft-spoken yet haunted by a past he can’t outrun, has drawn comparisons to his earlier role in Daredevil. His character’s arc takes a dark turn when it’s revealed he killed his wife, Anna’s mother, leading to a complex emotional core: he wants to rebuild a relationship with his daughter, Anna (Hannah Adeogun), but remains trapped in a world where violence is currency.
The show’s strength lies not just in its lead but in its ensemble. Aidan Gillen plays Frank, the passive patriarch. Sam Keeley is the impulsive Eric. Clare Dunne brings sharp intelligence as Amanda, the family’s strategic mind. And Emmett J. Scanlan delivers a standout performance as Jimmy, Bren’s son and Amanda’s husband, caught between loyalty and survival. Francis Magee rounds out the cast as Bren, a violent ex-con returning to reclaim power.
