MTV dropped its second wave of VMAs performers on Thursday, and the list is heavy on debuts. Lisa, RAYE, Shaboozey, Gunna, Gener8ion, Yung Lean and Sienna Spiro are all confirmed for the September 27 ceremony at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, joining an already-locked Madonna as opening act and Snoop Dogg as host.

Lisa isn't new to this stage, but the song is. The Blackpink member will use her VMAs slot for the TV debut of "SaWaDiKa," the lead single off her upcoming EP "PRESS PLAY." She's up for four awards this year. TheWrap put her total career nomination count at ten, which it says makes her the most-nominated K-pop solo act in the show's history. Just Jared's count runs slightly different, at four nominations for this cycle alone, so the lifetime tally is worth taking with a pinch of salt until MTV confirms it directly.

RAYE has never performed at the VMAs before. That changes this month with "Where Is My Husband!," the track that landed her a Song of the Year nod alongside a second nomination elsewhere. She's mid-tour with Bruno Mars right now and has a film debut coming too, in Yann Demange's thriller "Lineage." Busy year.

The rest of the bill

Shaboozey brings "Cowgirl" to the main stage and follows it with the first broadcast performance of "High Noon," his collaboration with Gunna. He's nominated in two categories, Best Country and Best Cinematography. Gener8ion and Yung Lean get the night's one true world premiere, debuting "STORM II" live for the first time. The duo picked up three nominations for that track's video, including Video of the Year, with Romain Gavras named for direction and Damien Jalet for choreography. Sienna Spiro, a Best New Artist nominee, performs a cut off her album "Visitor" in what will be her first VMAs appearance of any kind.

Madonna remains the headline act regardless of who else shows up. This is being billed as her first award-show performance in more than two decades, though the two outlets reporting it don't quite agree on the number, one says over 20 years, the other says 23. Either way, the last time she stood on a VMAs stage it ended with a kiss heard round the world, hers with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera in 2003. She also leads this year's nominations with 11, tied to her album "Confessions II."

MTV says more names are coming, presenters and special guests among them, so this still isn't the full night. Fan voting stays open across 13 categories through September 25 at 6 p.m. ET, with Best New Artist the one category fans can keep voting on live during the broadcast itself. CBS and MTV air the show at 7:30 p.m. ET on September 27, with Paramount+ carrying it for streaming subscribers.
