Nani’s Hindi debut, The Paradise, has quietly defied expectations at the box office, pulling in 10.25 crore net across India despite a lack of promotional push and no release in national multiplex chains like PVR Inox or Cinepolis. The action thriller, directed by Srikanth Odela and produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri and Ishan Saksena under Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Cinemas and IVY Entertainment, opened with a solid 8-day extended week one, grossing 10 crore net.
Even after Drishyam 3 entered the fray and reduced its screen count the film held on — earning 8 lakh on day 11, pushing its second weekend total to 25 lakh net. According to Koimoi’s assessment, the Hindi-dubbed version has already surpassed its estimated target of 8 crore net, delivering an excess of 2.25 crore, or 28.13%, in returns, enough for a ‘plus’ verdict under their criteria.
This marks Nani’s highest-grossing film in Hindi to date. His previous best was Dasara, which earned 4.67 crore net. By comparison, The Paradise is now 119.49% higher in earnings. The film reportedly had a production budget of 200 crore.
It stars Mohan Babu, Kayadu Lohar, Sonali Kulkarni, and Raghav Juyal in key roles. While the numbers don’t scream pan-India hit, they signal something more subtle: a South Indian star can find traction in Hindi markets without the usual Bollywood machinery. No grand launch. No wide release.
Just steady performance, driven by word-of-mouth and audience trust. The real story isn’t just the money it made. It’s that it made any at all under these conditions.
