Nani's The Paradise Netflix OTT Deal Worth ₹65 Crore

Trade sources say the streamer's fancy price tag comes with a four-to-six week theatrical window, putting a possible late-October streaming date on the table.

Nani's The Paradise opened worldwide on September 24, with Telugu states and overseas markets getting a head start through premieres from September 23. And before the first weekend numbers have even settled, the streaming conversation has already taken over social media.

Netflix has picked up the digital rights for ₹65 crore, according to trade sources cited by Filmibeat, calling it a fancy rate for a film that hasn't yet proven itself at the box office. Whatever the eventual verdict on the film, the number itself is a career high for Nani. No previous film of his has fetched a bigger OTT cheque.

The deal reportedly comes with the usual clause. A four-to-six week theatrical window before the film moves to streaming, which puts a tentative date somewhere in the last week of October. But that's a moving target. Trade watchers note the actual date could shift earlier or get pushed further out depending on how long The Paradise holds screens. Netflix hasn't put out an official date yet, and an announcement is expected in the coming weeks.

The money behind the mass entertainer

Directed by Sreekanth Odela, who last gave Nani the blockbuster Dasara, The Paradise reportedly carries a production cost of around ₹120 crore once you add up talent fees, production spend and publicity, per Tollywood sources. That makes it the biggest budget of Nani's career by some distance, and it explains why expectations around the film have been running hot, from Nani's new look to Mohan Babu's vintage styling in the cast.

On the theatrical side, the Nizam territory did business worth ₹32 crore, Andhra ₹35 crore and Ceded ₹8 crore, adding up to roughly ₹75 crore across the Telugu states. Trade pundits reckon the film needs to cross ₹150 crore gross in Telugu states alone just to break even there. Karnataka rights went for ₹3 crore, while producer Sudhakar Cherukuri is releasing the film himself overseas rather than selling those rights off. Put it all together and the break-even bar has been set at a ₹100 crore share, translating to roughly ₹200 crore gross worldwide.

That's a steep climb for any film, and it puts real weight on how The Paradise performs over its opening weekend.

The film's cast runs deep. Kaayadu Lohar plays the female lead opposite Nani, with Sonalee Kulkarni, Raghav Juyal, Mohan Babu, Tanikella Bharani, Sampoornesh Babu and Eeswari Rao rounding out the ensemble. Anirudh has composed the music, Ch Sai handles cinematography, Naveen Nooli is editing, and Thota Srinivas has written the dialogues. SLV Cinemas, under Sudhakar Cherukuri, has bankrolled the whole thing.

For now, the box office clock and the OTT clock are both ticking. Whether The Paradise recovers its ₹120 crore spend on the big screen will decide a lot, including whether Netflix's streaming date holds at late October or gets nudged around. Nani's team, and the streamer, are yet to confirm anything officially.
