Season 4 of Nobody Wants This is confirmed — even as Adam Brody faces backlash over Gaza remarks. The show’s creators say they’re thrilled. The wedding’s real. The drama’s just beginning.
Netflix has renewed Nobody Wants This for Season 4, just weeks after the third season’s release — a move that shows the show’s rapid ascent as one of the streamer’s most talked-about comedies. The announcement comes amid growing scrutiny over Adam Brody’s recent remarks on the Gaza conflict, which have sparked backlash from Jewish community figures.
In an interview with GQ, Brody stated he views the situation as genocide and expressed support for a free Palestine, calling it a moment of reckoning. Rabbi Steve Leder, former senior rabbi at Wilshire Boulevard Temple in Los Angeles and a technical adviser on the show’s first season, responded by criticizing Brody’s comments, saying he “by your own admission, are a relatively ignorant Jew,” and urged him to speak only when informed.
Tovah Feldshuh, who plays Brody’s onscreen mother Bina, echoed the sentiment in a statement to The New York Post, calling accusations of genocide against Jews “wild” and likening them to rhetoric from Hitler’s playbook. She later clarified on Threads that while profound differences exist, tensions are not rising, and nothing will be brought to set.
Erin Foster, co-showrunner and creator of the series, addressed the divide during a podcast appearance on Not Skinny But Not Fat, affirming that the show’s environment is built around open debate: “While I love Adam, I also disagree with him, and that’s OK.” The renewal was confirmed by Netflix’s U.S. Vice president of comedy series, Tracey Pakosta, who called the series a “true cultural phenomenon” and praised its ability to grow with its audience. Co-showrunners Foster, Jenni Konner, and Bruce Eric Kaplan said they’re “so happy and thrilled to do another season of our favorite show on television, which coincidentally is the one we run.” Season 3 concluded with Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody) tying the knot in a surprise beach ceremony in Malibu, finalizing her conversion to Judaism.
The couple now moves into a home together, beginning married life, though legally and socially, their union remains unacknowledged by many. Sasha (Timothy Simons) and Esther (Jackie Tohn), whose relationship fractured at the end of Season 2, are back on the dating scene. Morgan (Justine Lupe), meanwhile, is ascending professionally, her dynamic with Sasha still unresolved.
No official cast announcements for Season 4 have been made, but core actors are expected to return. Production will continue in Los Angeles, alongside other Netflix originals like Beef, The Lincoln Lawyer, Monster, and The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth. Executive producers include Bell, Sara Foster, Nora Silver, Steven Levitan, Danielle Stokdyk, Jeff Morton, and Oly Obst through 3 Arts Entertainment.
The series is produced by 20th Television. Season 4 has no release date yet. But it’s coming. And so is the next chapter, in every sense.
