Dhanush and Mammootty’s OM: Chapter 1 – Rudhiram: The Blood Wood is finally getting a Telugu release — November 20, 2026. That’s the date Sithara Entertainments has locked in for the pan-Indian action thriller, following its massive success with Jailer 2. The announcement lands just days after the Tamil blockbuster crossed ₹819 crore worldwide, making it Sun Pictures’ biggest film yet.

Now, Sithara’s next big push is this high-octane collaboration between two of South India’s most formidable stars. Dhanush, who also produced the film under Wunderbar Films and RTake Studios, teams up with Malayalam megastar Mammootty in a project written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the man behind Amaran, whose last film was a critical and commercial hit.

The cast includes Sai Pallavi, Sreeleela, Naseeruddin Shah, Indrans, and Chaitu Jonnalagadda. Music comes from Sai Abhyankkar, whose name has been trending since his work on Amaran. No word yet on whether the Telugu version will be dubbed or re-edited. But given Sithara’s track record, they’ve brought Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra and Jailer 2 to Telugu screens with full theatrical weight, expect a grand rollout.

The film’s title, Rudhiram: The Blood Wood, hints at a darker tone. Whether that fits the action-heavy profile remains to be seen. What’s certain? This isn’t just another release.

It’s a statement. And it arrives exactly when the Telugu market is hungry for something bold. Next stop: box office numbers on November 20.
