Parineeti Chopra’s latest chat with Zoom turned nostalgic as she described a moment that still makes her tear up. While shooting the rom‑com Shuddh Desi Romance in 2013, she received a text from Karan Johar congratulating her. The message was vague, but the excitement in the set was anything but.
Sushant Singh Rajput, who was sharing screen space with Rishi Kapoor, instantly lit up. "Main National Award winner ke saath kaam kar raha hoon," he exclaimed, translating to “I’m working with a National Award winner.” The actor’s grin was so wide that even the veteran Kapoor joked, "Both of you have gone crazy." Parineeti later said, "I have never seen somebody get so excited, so happy for me," a line she repeated verbatim during the interview.
The pair’s chemistry went beyond the camera. Chopra revealed that the two had been planning another film with filmmaker Homi Adajania, a project that never materialised. "We were supposed to do another film together with Homi. But it never worked out," she told Zoom. Their conversations weren’t just about scripts. They often drifted into economics and personal ambitions. "I am also a banker by qualification. He had done something before joining films. So, we would talk about stars, economics," she recalled, highlighting a bond that felt more like a friendship than a co‑star rapport.
