Ramayana: Part 1 has already crossed 2.5 lakh advance tickets sold across PVR INOX screens, with the film set to release on November 5 — a date chosen to ride the festive wave. That’s not just numbers. It’s momentum. The film’s early traction is being called ‘very encouraging’ by Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, Executive Director at PVR INOX Limited, who noted the timing aligns perfectly with family gatherings and traditional cinema-going during the six-day holiday window.
No surprise there. The Ramayana isn’t just a story. It’s a shared memory. And this version, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and co-written by Shridhar Raghavan, is betting big on that emotional currency.
Ranbir Kapoor plays Rama, Sai Pallavi is Sita, and Yash takes on Ravana, a trio that’s already generating buzz in the lead-up. The film is produced by Namit Malhotra and Yash. With screenings beginning Thursday morning, the real test starts Friday. But for now, the numbers are good.
The response? Encouraging. The question remains: can it hold through the long weekend?
