The actor moves into a studio set in Mira Road for close-quarters fight sequences as Vamshi Paidipally's pan-India film races to wrap shooting by November ahead of its Eid 2027 release.
Salman Khan is back on set, and this time it's hand-to-hand combat for 50 straight days. The actor has moved into a studio setup in Mira Road, Mumbai, for what Filmfare reports is one of the toughest legs of production on Monster, his upcoming pan-India film with director Vamshi Paidipally.
The focus this schedule is close-range fighting. According to reports cited by Filmfare, the team has deliberately steered away from heavy VFX and stylised choreography, aiming instead for something that looks and feels real. That means Salman going toe to toe with his on-screen opponents in sequences built around physical combat rather than wire work.
It's not like he walked in cold. A 10-day combat training block was held in Mumbai back in September, reportedly meant to sharpen precision before the cameras started rolling on these fights.
Monster has been in production since April 2026, when it went on floors in Mumbai. The shoot has moved across multiple elaborate setups since then. In August, the unit wrapped a six-week stretch in Goregaon that included large-scale action, crowd sequences and a specially built Afghan village set. That's a fair bit of ground covered already, and the Mira Road leg is meant to close out the action-heavy portions.
There's a scheduling squeeze here too. Salman is reportedly juggling this shoot alongside his television reality show hosting commitments, which is no small thing given how packed both calendars tend to be. Despite that, the makers are said to be targeting completion of principal photography by November 2026.
Once the cameras stop rolling, Monster moves into post-production, and the team will be working against the clock for a theatrical release timed to Eid 2027. That's still several months out, but Eid releases for Salman Khan carry their own weight at the box office, and the pressure to deliver will only build from here.
The film carries a loaded cast list. Nayanthara, Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swamy, Rahul Dev, Ronit Roy and Seema Biswas round out the ensemble, a mix that spans Hindi and South cinema and fits the pan-India ambitions the makers have attached to the project from the start.
For now, the story is the grind. Fifty days of close-combat shooting is no small ask for any actor, let alone one splitting time with a reality show set. Whether Monster can make its November deadline, and whether that leaves enough runway for post-production before Eid 2027, is the next thing to watch.
