Salman Khan seen with heavy security post-Tiger Shroff shooting; unverified threat message names him as target
Salman Khan was spotted at Mumbai’s private airport on Tuesday, October 20, with a enhanced security presence — armed officers from the Special Protection Unit visible as he moved through the terminal. The sighting follows the shooting incident involving actor Tiger Shroff on Sunday, October 18, when unidentified assailants opened fire on his vehicle near Pushpa Narsee Park in Juhu.
Three people have since been detained in connection with the attack, and the investigation is ongoing. The Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met Tiger Shroff at his residence and confirmed that security arrangements for actors would be reviewed in light of the incident. That review now includes Salman Khan, whose own safety has been under scrutiny for years.
In April 2024, gunshots were fired outside Salman’s Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, with the Bishnoi gang reportedly claiming responsibility. A chargesheet filed by Mumbai Police named jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and others linked to his network. Salman told investigators he believed the attack was meant to kill him and members of his family.
The threat landscape intensified further in October 2024, when politician Baba Siddique, known to be close to Salman, was shot dead in Mumbai. Authorities have not ruled out the possibility that Siddique’s association with the actor played a role in the killing. The latest development comes amid the circulation of an unverified audio message allegedly attributed to Anil Pandit, who claims responsibility for the Tiger Shroff attack alongside Harman Sandhu.
The recording states that Tiger had been warned earlier but failed to heed the warning, and adds that anyone in the Mumbai film industry who continues to work with Salman Khan will be next. Another purported audio clip reportedly demands Salman apologize to Lawrence Bishnoi and the Bishnoi community. Neither message has been authenticated by law enforcement.
Still, their spread has amplified concerns about the vulnerability of high-profile figures in the entertainment sector. The presence of armed personnel during Salman’s airport arrival is not just routine, it signals a shift in posture. Security measures are no longer just reactive. They’re anticipatory.
The question isn’t whether Salman Khan is being protected. It’s whether the system can keep up with threats that seem to grow louder with every headline.
