The actor shared photos from filmmaker Nidhi Dutta's family celebration as Ganeshotsav wrapped up across the country on Thursday.
Sara Ali Khan spent the last day of Ganeshotsav at filmmaker Nidhi Dutta's family Ganpati celebration, posting photos of herself beside a heavily decorated idol of Lord Ganesha.
The caption she used was in Marathi, mixed with Hindi: "Last din par Dutta cha Raja ke darshan ho gaye Ganpati Bappa Morya." The post went up as the visarjan festivities wound down nationwide, and it's the kind of thing Sara does most years, dropping in on friends' pandals and sharing the shrine, not just the selfie.
It's worth remembering where she comes from. Sara's father Saif Ali Khan has a Muslim background, her mother Amrita Singh carries both Sikh and Hindu roots, and Sara herself has spent years showing up at festivals that don't all belong to one tradition. That's just how the Pataudi household runs. Saif and Kareena Kapoor Khan have made a habit of posting family festival pictures too, kids included.
Kareena's own Ganesh Chaturthi post this year showed Saif helping their younger son Jehangir make a clay Ganesha idol by hand. "Made by my Jeh Baba. Wishing everyone a happy and peaceful Ganesh Chaturthi!" she wrote alongside it. Between Sara's pandal visit and Kareena's post about Jeh's clay idol, the family's festival season online has stretched across the full ten days.
On the work side, Sara's calendar is filling up fast. She was last on screen in Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, which released in May. Next up is Udta Teer, a spy comedy from director Akash A. Kaushik that pairs her with Ayushmann Khurrana, due in theatres on October 9. The film has already drawn attention for its India-Pakistan setting, with producer Guneet Monga Kapoor and Khurrana both weighing in recently on whether it could get a release in the UAE and the wider Gulf region, given the subject.
Sara's filmography since her 2018 debut in Kedarnath, opposite the late Sushant Singh Rajput, has been a fairly wide spread: Simmba, Love Aaj Kal, Coolie No. 1, Atrangi Re, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, Gaslight, Ae Watan Mere Watan, Murder Mubarak, Sky Force and Metro... In Dino. Udta Teer would be her first outright comedy built around a geopolitical premise, and with less than two weeks to release, the promotional push is only going to get louder from here.
