That's it. That's the whole statement. But given how long fans had been waiting for it, the brevity almost made it louder.

Ranveer Singh's Aditya Dhar-directed duology has been the industry's biggest conversation since December. The first film opened on December 5, 2025, and its follow-up, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, arrived March 19, 2026. Between the two, the franchise has racked up worldwide numbers that trade trackers put at roughly Rs 1,350 crore and Rs 1,852 crore respectively, according to figures cited by the Free Press Journal. That's a combined run most stars would kill to be publicly associated with.

And plenty were. Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, Ayushmann Khurrana, Riteish Deshmukh, Shilpa Shetty, Preity Zinta, Hrithik Roshan, Anupam Kher and Rajkummar Rao all put out their appreciation for the films early. Down south, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun and Vijay Deverakonda joined in too. Shah Rukh, didn't. The Free Press Journal reported that his quiet had started to draw actual criticism online, with people asking why the industry's biggest star hadn't said a word about the year's biggest hit.

So when he finally did, it read less like enthusiasm and more like a superstar clearing his desk. Nine words, three exclamation marks, and the subject line closed.

Worth noting: Shah Rukh didn't single out a performance or a scene. He credited "the whole team," which is either genuine collective praise or a diplomatically vague way of saying something nice without picking favourites. Either reading works, and both outlets covering this treated the line as his first direct reaction to the franchise, full stop.

The timing isn't incidental either. Shah Rukh has his own film to think about. He's currently shooting King with Siddharth Anand, a cast that includes his daughter Suhana Khan alongside Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Abhay Verma and Raghav Juyal. A star of his stature weighing in on a rival hit, even briefly, tends to get read as goodwill in an industry that keeps score.

Whether Ranveer responds to the response is the next thing to watch. He hasn't, as of this filing. Given how AskSRK sessions tend to spiral into their own news cycle, don't be surprised if this one keeps generating headlines through the week, one fan question at a time.
