Shah Rukh Khan picked Monday to remind everyone the King clock is ticking. December 24 is exactly 100 days away, and he marked it the way he usually does, by opening up his timeline to whatever fans wanted to throw at him.

The #AskSRK session ran on X through the day, and while several users tried to pump him for King details, Shah Rukh mostly kept the mood light and personal.

Asked what's the most "KING-like" thing he does off screen, he didn't reach for anything grand. "Have three cups of coffee in bed before anybody can speak with me even if I am late for work!!" he wrote, before adding the punchline himself: "Then of course on sets get shouted at for being late and have no Kingly feelings left!!"

That's the SRK move, really. Set up the mystique, then puncture it in the same breath.

One fan wanted to know if there's anything left that rattles him after this many decades in front of a camera. His reply was four words: "Getting the punch line right!" Coming from a man who's built a career on the delivery of exactly that, it's a small, oddly honest admission.

He also let slip his current reading. Shah Rukh said he's on The Hero of Ages, the closing book in Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn trilogy, which follows on from The Well of Ascension and keeps its focus on Vin and the world of Scadrial. Not the first association people make with him, but there it is.

And when someone asked which completely useless skill he'd want to master overnight, he went with one word: "Fidgets."

No new King specifics came out of the session, but that was never really the point of an #AskSRK. It's less a press briefing and more Shah Rukh doing what he's always done well, keeping himself in the conversation while giving away just enough to feel like access.

King itself remains the bigger story waiting to happen. Directed by Siddharth Anand, it brings Shah Rukh together with daughter Suhana Khan on screen, alongside Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Abhay Verma and Arshad Warsi. The film is billed as an action-adventure and lands in theatres on December 24, going up against a stacked end-of-year release calendar that already has Avengers: Doomsday circling the same window.

With 100 days to go, expect more of these check-ins. Trailers, posters, maybe another #AskSRK round closer to release. For now, three cups of coffee and a Mistborn novel is all the update anyone's getting.
