Shriya Saran didn’t just return to the Drishyam franchise after childbirth — she rebuilt herself around it. Eight months after giving birth, she was already on her feet, juggling breastfeeding, gym sessions, and cooking while preparing to reprise Nandini Salgaonkar in Drishyam 2. The Hindi trilogy concluded on October 2, 2026, but the real story behind its making lies in a period few knew about: a time when Saran wasn’t just acting strong, she was becoming strong.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, she recalled how the role of Nandini mirrored her own life in ways she hadn’t expected. ‘I can be very strong,’ she said, ‘but I don't know that I have their strength.’ That doubt wasn’t theatrical, it was personal. It came from a moment in Barcelona during the pandemic, when she found out she was pregnant alone, far from family, with no help.
