Toxic made ₹2.35 crore on its twelfth day, Sunday, taking the film's India net collection to ₹245.75 crore, according to The Times of India. That number matters more than it looks. It puts Yash's gangster thriller past Peddi's ₹244.27 crore lifetime total, handing Toxic third place on the list of India's highest-grossing films of 2026, a spot Koimoi had flagged a day earlier as inevitable given the trending.

The overseas gross now stands at ₹44.50 crore, and the worldwide gross after twelve days has crossed ₹337.80 crore. Not small numbers. But context is everything here.

Because Toxic has spent most of its run being talked about as a box office disappointment, and the daily numbers back that up. Day 11, the second Saturday, brought in just ₹2.28 crore, up 30.29% over Friday's ₹1.75 crore, per Koimoi's tracking. A jump, sure, but on a base that low, the jump doesn't mean much. At that point the film's India net stood at ₹239.08 crore, or ₹282.13 crore gross.

So the film crossed ₹200 crore, then overtook Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu for fourth spot, and now it's third. Given how the daily collections are trending, though, Koimoi's assessment stands: Toxic will miss ₹300 crore net by a considerable distance, and third place is likely as far as this run goes.

A hit list built on a thin field

What the numbers really point to is a 2026 slate that hasn't thrown up many genuine blockbusters, letting a film with single-digit daily crores still crack the top three. That's not a knock on Toxic specifically. It's just how the arithmetic works when theatrical footfall has been soft across languages this year.

The Kannada version continues to lead the film's India net collection, per TOI's report, which tracks given Yash's home turf pull, even though Toxic released as a multi-language, pan-India film with Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, Akshay Oberoi and a large supporting cast.

Geethu Mohandas directed the period gangster action thriller, produced by Venkat K Narayana and Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations LLP. It opened in theatres on August 26.

The question now is how far that third-place ranking holds. Nothing big enough to challenge it has opened yet, but the festive corridor later this year could change that fast. For now, Toxic gets to call itself a top-three release of 2026, even while everyone in the trade keeps describing its theatrical run the same way Koimoi did on Saturday: a disaster, just one that happened at a very large scale.
