Yash's Toxic Skips ZEE5's October OTT Slate Too

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic spent years bouncing around release dates before it finally opened in theatres in August. The film carries a heavyweight cast on paper, Yash alongside Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria, backed by KVN Productions on what was clearly meant to be a large canvas, with Ravi Basrur handling the music. None of that translated into the kind of box office numbers that usually accompany a Yash release.

That underperformance is part of why the OTT push matters so much here. A theatrical run that doesn't land often gets a second life once a film moves to streaming, especially for an audience that skipped the cinema and was waiting to watch at home. Two straight months of no OTT date, first September, now October, chips away at that momentum before it's even had a chance to build.

Neither ZEE5 nor the makers have put out an official word on why Toxic keeps sliding off the calendar. No new date has been announced, and 123telugu's report frames it plainly: fans hoping to revisit the film digitally, or catch it for the first time, are simply going to have to keep waiting.

It's a familiar pattern for this particular production. Toxic already went through multiple delays on its way to theatres, and now the same uncertainty seems to have followed it to streaming. For a film with this much star power attached, the silence around a concrete OTT date is starting to say almost as much as an official announcement would.

The obvious question now is whether ZEE5 holds the rights at all, or whether the makers are shopping the digital premiere elsewhere after the theatrical numbers came in soft. Until either side says something on record, Toxic sits in the same place it's been for weeks: talked about, waited for, and nowhere on an actual release calendar.
