Ten days to release and the marketing machine for one of Tollywood's most anticipated films this year is barely off the ground.
Aadarsha Kutumbam: House No 47, the Trivikram-Venkatesh collaboration that had fans buzzing the moment it was announced, is set to open in theatres on October 9. But according to Telugu360, the film is running into a problem nobody expected from this pairing: nobody's talking about it enough.
The teaser, when it dropped, did its job without setting anything on fire. Telugu360 called it decent, which in trade-speak usually means it held attention but didn't trend for days. The bigger worry came with the first single, released a day before the report. Music lovers weren't impressed, and the track has been described as sounding dated rather than fresh.
That's a genuine concern for a film riding on a director known for packaging mass entertainment with sharp writing and a hero whose fanbase shows up loud for a proper festival release. Trivikram's family dramas usually build a slow-burn wave of curiosity through teasers, posters and soundtrack drops timed weeks apart. This time, per the report, that machinery hasn't kicked into gear even as the release date sits less than a fortnight away.
Srinidhi Shetty, the leading lady opposite Venkatesh, has been out promoting the film on her own. Thaman, who's composing the music, still has more songs to release before October 9, and the makers will need those tracks and whatever promotional push follows to do a lot of heavy lifting in a short window.
Haarika and Hassine Creations are backing the project, and the expectation within the trade, as Telugu360 notes, is that Aadarsha Kutumbam will open reasonably well regardless. A Trivikram-Venkatesh film carries its own opening-day pull, first-day numbers built on curiosity and combination value alone. But opening well and opening big are different conversations, and the gap between the two usually comes down to exactly what's missing here: buzz.
The title itself, Aadarsha Kutumbam: House No 47, points to a family entertainer with some kind of twist baked in, which is the space Trivikram has made his own over the years. Whether that twist is enough to cut through a quiet promotional run remains to be seen.
With the remaining songs still to drop and a full trailer presumably still to come, the makers have a narrow window to turn things around. October 9 isn't moving. The question is how loud this film sounds by the time it gets there.
