The Hyderabad teaser event for the sleeper Hindi hit was scrapped hours before Trivikram Srinivas reportedly walked away from presenting the film, leaving its September 18 Telugu rollout without a distributor.
Two days before its Telugu debut, Hanuman Ansh has lost its presenter. Trivikram Srinivas, who was set to back the regional release through his Fortune Four Cinemas banner, has reportedly stepped away from the project. Neither he nor the makers have said a word about it publicly.
The first sign something had gone wrong came Tuesday. A teaser launch event planned in Hyderabad for September 15 simply didn't happen, and the Telugu teaser itself never dropped. Trade outlets began reporting soon after that Trivikram's arrangement with the Hanuman Ansh team had fallen apart at the last minute.
A source close to Trivikram told India Today, as reported by Free Press Journal, that "there have been some last-minute problems" behind the cancelled event, and that Trivikram "will no longer be presenting the Telugu release." The same source suggested the film could still open on September 18 as planned, just without Fortune Four Cinemas attached. Telugu360 and 123telugu carried similar versions of the story, both stressing that nothing has been confirmed on the record by either party.
That leaves the film in an odd spot with barely 48 hours on the clock. No new presenter or distributor has been named for the Telugu version. No statement has clarified whether the September 18 date holds, shifts, or whether the Telugu release happens at all. For a film riding this much momentum, the silence is conspicuous.
Because momentum is the real story here. Hanuman Ansh opened to a modest Rs 10 lakh in Hindi and was made on a reported budget of around Rs 2 crore, hardly the profile of a box office giant. Word of mouth changed everything. Free Press Journal reports the film has now closed in on Rs 300 crore worldwide and overtaken Mirzapur: The Movie to sit among the top three highest-grossing Bollywood films of 2026. 123telugu, meanwhile, puts its India nett collections past Rs 200 crore, a figure that doesn't map neatly onto FPJ's worldwide number, which is a reminder that trade tallies are still being reconciled as the film keeps climbing.
A Telugu release, with Trivikram's name attached, was meant to be the next big push for a film that's already outperformed every expectation set for it. Vishal Chaturvedi's spiritual drama traces the life of Neem Karoli Baba, from his early years as Lakshman Narayan to the figure devotees came to revere, with Shobhinaw Satyaa in the lead and Vihaan Shedege and Poornima Tiwari in support.
Whether Telugu audiences get to see that story on September 18 now depends on whether the makers can line up a new distributor in time, or whether they push the date instead. Right now, nobody's saying which.
