Four days in, and Prem Keetanu is barely limping along. The film, Veer Pahariya's second release after Sky Force, collected an estimated ₹10 lakh net on Monday across 685 shows, according to data tracked by Sacnilk. That's a 64.3 percent drop from Sunday's ₹28 lakh, and it puts the film's total India net collection at roughly ₹1.21 crore since its October 2 release. Add distributor share and the gross figure climbs to about ₹1.45 crore, but neither number is anything to celebrate.
The arithmetic is the real problem here. Prem Keetanu is reportedly made on a budget of around ₹3 crore, which isn't a huge number by Bollywood standards, but the film hasn't even cleared half of it in net collections after its opening weekend and first weekday combined. A Monday fall of this size, right after a soft opening, usually means a film has failed to find word of mouth, and there's little in the trade numbers so far to suggest otherwise.
Part of the trouble is timing. Prem Keetanu walked into theatres the same week as Ajay Devgn's Drishyam: The Conclusion, a film with far bigger star power and marketing muscle chasing the same audience's theatre budget. Smaller romantic dramas rarely survive that kind of traffic jam, and Pahariya's film appears to be the one getting squeezed out.
