Chiyaan 63 has a name now. Tamil star Vikram's upcoming film with director Anand Shankar is officially titled Power House, the makers confirmed on Monday, September 14, releasing a title announcement teaser to mark Vinayaka Chaturthi.

The film had been running under its working title, Chiyaan 63, since it was announced, and this is the first real look at what Vikram and Anand Shankar are building together. The teaser opens on a wedding. Vikram plays a man who runs Nalla Thambi Catering Service alongside his sister, played by Riya Shibu, and his mother, played by Urvashi. Ordinary enough, until he walks into a dark passage at the back of the house.

That's where Power House earns its Vikram-esque tag. In a storage room out of sight from the wedding guests, one man is tied to a chair and another hangs upside down from the ceiling. When the hanging man starts to struggle, Vikram calms him down with a line that's already doing the rounds online: "I have just started cooking, haven't I? I promise to send you back after a full meals. 100% guarantee."

No plot details beyond that, which tracks. Vikram's teasers have rarely given away story, and this one keeps the same instinct, letting the tone do the talking instead.

The title itself carries baggage in Tamil pop culture right now. Power House, as The Hindu points out, has been a phrase in circulation since Rajinikanth's 2025 film Coolie, where it worked as a codeword to unleash the beast in the hero. Whether Anand Shankar's film borrows that idea or is just riffing on the phrase for its own reasons isn't clear yet.

The cast around Vikram includes MS Bhaskar, Shammy Thilakan, VTV Ganesh and Samyuktha Hegde. Santhosh Narayanan is on music, RD Rajasekar handles cinematography, and Raymond Derrick Crasta edits. Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan are producing under Sathya Jyothi Films.

For Vikram and Anand Shankar, this is round two. Their first film together, Iru Mugan, came out in 2016, and Power House marks the first time they've reunited in a decade. Vikram's slate beyond this includes a project with director Bodi Rajkumar. Two other films that were reportedly in the works, one with Madonne Ashwin of Mandela and Maaveran, and another with Prem Kumar of 96 and Meiyazhagan, are said to have been shelved, according to reports cited by The Hindu.

Power House is slated for a 2027 release, which leaves plenty of time for the marketing machine to lean into that catchphrase. Whether the full trailer explains what the title actually means for the story, or keeps playing coy the way this teaser does, is the next thing to watch for.
