Daayra, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran as officers on opposite sides of a police encounter case, opened soft despite glowing reviews, with trade trackers giving conflicting day one numbers against a reported Rs 50-60 crore budget.
Daayra and Vibe hit screens on September 18 with credits nobody expected. Karan Johar gets a special thanks for parting with a title, while Hrithik Roshan and Huma Qureshi get roped into an in-character joke.
CBFC has passed Kunal Kemmu's Vibe with an A certificate, muting a single abusive word and adding a drug disclaimer while leaving all action and romantic scenes exactly as shot. The film releases September 18, the same day as Daayra.
Kareena Kapoor Khan's Daayra and Kunal Kemmu's Vibe both received 'A' certificates from the CBFC on September 11, days before their September 18 release, with Vibe's adult rating surprising many in the trade.
