Five years, one lost phone number and a rejected tourist visa later, Marissa Rubinetti and Edward Miguel Gomez are married.

The 90 Day Fiancé couple tied the knot on September 6, 2026, in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, in front of 55 guests, according to a report by Bollywood Shaadis. The wedding closed out the show's Season 12 finale, and the pair spoke to PEOPLE about how they got there.

It started, as these things sometimes do, at a hotel karaoke bar. Marissa, then fresh out of a divorce, was on a girls' trip to Punta Cana in 2021 when she made eye contact with Edward, who was working the bar. She got up and sang Walk Like an Egyptian. They swapped numbers, saw each other a handful of times around the resort, and then lost touch when she flew home. No K-1, no plan, nothing official. Just a feeling neither of them could shake.

Marissa has said Edward was the first man who made her feel like herself again after what she's described as a marriage spent walking on eggshells. So when she was planning another Punta Cana trip in late 2023 or early 2024, she texted him on a hunch. Turns out he'd been trying to find her too, having lost her number somewhere along the way. That text turned into a first official date, then a first kiss, and Marissa has called it the moment the electricity finally arrived.

What followed was two years of FaceTime calls and transatlantic flights. Marissa, who says she'd sworn off marriage entirely, initially resisted the K-1 route. The couple tried a tourist visa instead, so Edward could get a feel for life in Blue Bell and New York before committing to anything permanent. That application was denied in early 2025. Faced with a choice between walking away or going all in, they chose the K-1, got engaged, and found their way onto 90 Day Fiancé through a Facebook group for K-1 applicants.

Edward's arrival for Season 12 wasn't without friction, per the report, from house rules and language gaps to pushback from Marissa's ex over her sons Cole and Derek, plus disagreements over having more kids.

None of that made it to the altar. The couple went with a small, neutral-toned ceremony built around a Dominican lasso ritual, where both mothers placed a lasso around the couple to mark the joining of the two families. Marissa wore a Pnina Tornai gown with a corset bodice, skipping the veil for a long choker instead. Edward stuck to a classic black tux. Dessert was a three-tier cake in gold, vanilla and strawberry buttercream, with custom chocolates wrapped in the colours of the Dominican flag.

A world away from her first wedding, which had over 200 guests, Marissa wanted this one to feel intimate. Fifty-five people, including her sons, made the cut.

What happens next for the couple, at least on camera, isn't clear. Marissa says she's building a new business and Edward is looking at opportunities in baseball as he settles into life in the US. Whether that becomes its own storyline is a question for whenever TLC decides to renew the franchise again.
