Ajith Kumar's Dare Devil finally has a face. The makers dropped the actor's first look on Thursday, and it's the kind of poster that tells you exactly what mood this film is going for before a single scene has rolled.

He's seated in a red leather wingback chair, white suit, white shirt, red-tinted sunglasses catching the light. A metal wristwatch, a bracelet, and — the detail everyone's going to zoom in on, a dice game piece resting in his palm. Read into that whatever you like. Adhik Ravichandran doesn't do subtle posters.

This is Adhik and Ajith's second film together, coming off Good Bad Ugly, which did solid business in 2025 and gave both of them a reason to go again. Whatever chemistry worked the first time, the makers clearly think it's worth repeating, fast.

The bigger story here might actually be behind the camera. Dare Devil marks Shalini's debut as a producer, backing the film through her outfit Bravehearts Production LLP. She's been Ajith's co-star and his wife for decades, but this is the first time she's the one signing the cheques and calling the shots on a set he's headlining. That's not a small shift for a project this high-profile.

The technical side is locked in too. Abhinandan Ramanujam is behind the camera, Vijay Velukutty is cutting the film, and Supreme Sundar, a name Kollywood action fans will recognise, is choreographing the fight sequences. The poster confirms shooting begins on November 2, 2026, which puts Dare Devil on a fairly tight runway if the makers are eyeing a release inside the next year.

A packed few months for Ajith

The first look lands days after Ajith's meeting with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay made headlines on its own. The two, on-screen rivals for over thirty years, ran into each other at Silverstone in Northampton on September 12, where Vijay was in the UK on an official trip and had turned up to flag off the Michelin Le Mans Cup. Ajith, who's leaned hard back into racing lately, was there to compete.

That racing streak is also getting its own screen treatment. A documentary titled Gladiators, tracking Ajith's motorsport career, is currently in the works, directed by Vijay. The filmmaker behind Deiva Thirumagal, not the Chief Minister. Ribhu Sharma, Noel Kemman and Kabilan Vinayic are shooting it, with Anthony on the edit.

So Ajith's calendar right now is racetrack, documentary crew, and a November film shoot, all running close together. Dare Devil doesn't have a release date yet. Once cameras roll on November 2, that's the next thing to watch for.
