Anushka Sen Fronts Nykaa's K-Beauty Category As Korean Film Debut Nears

The Nykaa tie-up lands just as Sen prepares to step into Korean cinema with a film called Jeju Olle, making the beauty campaign feel less like marketing and more like timing.

Anushka Sen has become the newest face on Nykaa's roster, and this time the brief is specifically Korean. Nykaa has named her the representative for its K-Beauty category, the skincare and makeup vertical built around Korean brands, according to Bollywood Hungama.

She joins a lineup that already has Deepika Padukone as Nykaa's brand ambassador, Sharvari fronting Nykaa more broadly, and Rasha Thadani representing Nykaa Cosmetics. Sen's addition is notable because she's the first face picked to anchor the K-Beauty vertical on its own, rather than the wider Nykaa umbrella.

The timing tracks. Sen is preparing to make her Korean cinema debut in a project titled Jeju Olle, a genuine first for an Indian actor of her generation stepping directly into Korean film work rather than just Korean brand campaigns. Her interest in Korean culture, K-dramas, music, the whole ecosystem, predates this deal by some distance, which is presumably why Nykaa reached for her instead of someone borrowing the aesthetic for a season.

K-Beauty has stopped being a curiosity import in India. What started with sheet masks and ten-step routines has turned into a full retail category with real shelf space, and Nykaa has been expanding its Korean brand catalogue steadily to keep up. Sen, whose following skews young and online, is being positioned as the bridge between that audience and the category itself.

This isn't her first Korean crossover moment either. She's previously fronted an Oreo collaboration built around BTS, another case of a brand leaning on her specifically to connect Indian and Korean fan cultures rather than just running a generic campaign.

Why this one's different

Most celebrity beauty tie-ups are pure endorsement, a face slapped on a product line with no real connection to it. This one has an actual through-line: an actor whose career is now genuinely moving toward Korea, backed by a beauty deal built around the same market. That's a harder story to fake, and it's presumably the point.

What's still unclear is basic detail on Jeju Olle itself, plot, co-stars, and when it releases haven't been spelled out yet. That debut, whenever it lands, will be the real test of whether the Korea connection holds up as more than a campaign line. The beauty deal is easy. Landing a Korean film role that actually works for an Indian audience back home is the harder part, and that's still ahead of her.
