A boozy Raj mistakes Indu for Bhramarambha in the dark, and Siri walks in at exactly the wrong moment, setting up Aparna's morning blow-up.
Raj's drinking problem just became everyone else's problem too. In the latest stretch of Brahmamudi, he comes home drunk, beats Bhramarambha, and only lets her go when Sesham begs him to stop. It's ugly, and it sets the tone for a night that only gets messier from there.
Sesham, watching Bhramarambha cry out in pain, doesn't exactly rush to comfort anyone. He laughs it off and reminds Raj and Rekha that he'd warned them this plan wouldn't work. Rekha isn't in the mood to be told off. She storms away insisting she'll handle Siri on her own terms, since apparently neither man in the room can get the truth out of her.
Meanwhile, there's a quieter, sadder thread running through the same episode. Madan notices Swati isn't eating and asks what's wrong. She tells him they've been surviving on food her sister sends over and wants to know what happens once that stops. Madan tries to reassure her, an interview is lined up for the next day, he's sure the job will come through, and he's already planning to ask for an advance. Swati's response, that she'll endure anything as long as she's with him, gets to Madan in a way the show plays for full emotional effect.
Back at the main house, Raj's drunken stumbling turns into a full farce. He sneaks toward the bedroom and walks straight into Indu, who scolds him for how much he's had to drink. Then a lizard shows up, and a startled Raj grabs Indu and holds on tight, purely out of fright rather than intention. Except intention doesn't matter once Siri walks in.
Siri had come into the room because grandfather Kurchi's snoring was keeping her from sleeping, and instead finds Raj and Indu in what looks like an intimate moment. Indu, thinking fast, gets the old man to rest his head in her lap so the snoring stops and the household can settle down. It's a small fix for a big misunderstanding, and it doesn't hold. By morning, Aparna is furious with Indu, and the episode ends on that confrontation.
What exactly Aparna says, and whether Siri repeats what she saw to anyone else in the house, is what the September 29 episode, numbered 1149, is set to deal with. Rekha's promise to go after Siri directly hasn't paid off yet either. With Sesham needling from the sidelines and Raj too drunk half the time to notice the damage he's doing, Brahmamudi's household looks headed for a reckoning that Aparna's morning temper might only be the start of.
