The week's biggest gut-punch on Brahmamudi didn't come from the DNA report everyone's been arguing about. It came Friday, when the man Rekha put a tail on led her straight to a hospital bed and the discovery that the woman lying in it, Siri, is married to Raj.

Rekha found out the same way we did, through a phone call gone wrong. Siri had opened her eyes after being unconscious for days, the doctor rang Raj, and Raj bolted out mid-birthday-prep without telling anyone why. Rekha's man was already following him. When Rekha herself turned up at the hospital and asked a nurse what the connection was between Raj and the girl in the bed, she got the answer as a slap. She photographed the scene and left for home without a word to Raj, who was still standing there watching Siri open her eyes but not speak.

The DNA fallout nobody's recovering from

Back up a few episodes and the DNA report drops. Bhramarambha and Bhushan refuse to believe Lucky is Rekha's son until Raj produces the paperwork, and the room goes silent. Rekha herself confirms it. She had a child before her marriage, and that child is Lucky.

Madan takes it hardest. He can't process sharing blood with Lucky and walks out of the house despite Rekha begging him on the road, quite literally, not to leave. Bhramarambha, never one to miss a moment, needles Bhushan about what he plans to do about his wife's past. Bhushan's answer is cold. He tells Rekha to stop grieving the secret and start focusing on the family property instead, a line that reads less like comfort and more like a strategy briefing.

Raj, for his part, warns the household plainly that anyone who comes after him or Indu won't be let off easy. Rekha, humiliated in front of everyone, storms off to confront Bhushan's rival plotting and vows she isn't done with Raj. Subhash tells the family to be careful, Rekha's holding a grudge now.

A birthday, a grudge and one running joke

Amid all this, Indu tries to throw Raj a proper birthday, roping in Chalapati and Lakshmi. Bhramarambha can't resist mocking Subhash and Aparna when they arrive, and Aparna, unbothered, fires back calling her the household's biggest freeloader. Indu's own morning ritual, teasing Raj awake by calling him a donkey until he wrestles an apology out of her, is the one bit of comic relief in an otherwise grim week.

The other thread quietly building is Venky and Nandu. Indu finally gets it out of Indu that Venky loves Nandu but stayed silent because she's the heir to the Duggirala family. Indu sends the pair off together to fetch the birthday cake, hoping proximity does what conversation hasn't. It doesn't. They come back having barely spoken.

Raj going missing on his own birthday sets off a small panic at home before he and Rekha both walk in together, though what Rekha does with that hospital photograph is the question the show is clearly saving for next week.
