The Fast & Furious universe is finally hitting TV — and Peacock is the garage it’s calling home. The streamer has greenlit a scripted series based on the franchise, with a 2028 premiere locked in. That’s not just a date. It’s a countdown to the end of an era: the final film, Fast Forever, is set for release on March 17, 2028.
Coincidence? Probably not. This isn’t just a spin-off. It’s a legacy extension.
A last gasp of the family reunion before the credits roll on celluloid. And Vin Diesel, who’s been quietly building this moment since May, says it’s only happening now because Donna Langley took over NBCUniversal’s TV arm. ‘That’s when I knew the integrity would be protected,’ he said. Not a fanboy’s dream.
A franchise owner’s demand. The showrunners are Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman, both veterans of Shades of Blue, Sons of Anarchy, and 9-1-1: Lone Star. Their names carry weight. But what they’ll do with Dom Toretto’s world?
Still under wraps. No word yet on whether any original characters will appear. Or if this is a prequel, a parallel timeline, or something entirely new. What we do know: there are three other Fast & Furious series in development.
