A remuneration breakdown attributed to Malayalam Indian Express puts the actor well ahead of Rahul Easwar and the rest of this season's contestants.
Gayathri Suresh is reportedly the best-paid face inside the Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 8 house this year, drawing Rs 1 lakh a day, according to a remuneration breakdown first reported by Malayalam Indian Express and picked up by Oneindia Malayalam. Do the math on a full run and that's Rs 50 lakh if she manages to stay in for fifty days.
She's the only actor from the film industry in this season's line-up, which makes the number less surprising than it first looks. What's odd is the timing. Gayathri was actually voted out on day two of the season, before producers brought her back in through a re-entry. Whatever the arithmetic of that swing, the report says her per-day rate hasn't moved.
Rahul Easwar comes in second at Rs 45,000 a day. He walked into the house as arguably the most recognisable name on the contestant list after Gayathri, and the pay reflects that billing. The show itself hasn't been as kind to him. General chatter around the season has him underdelivering on the expectations he arrived with, though that's a reading of the game, not the paycheque.
Behind those two sit the show's two television imports, Mridula Vijay and Sreelaya, both reportedly on Rs 40,000 a day. Jasla Praveen, Sreelakshmi Arayakkal and RJ Anjali are said to be pulling in up to Rs 25,000. Further down, KS Sreeraj, known online as Kadal Comban, and Vignesh Venu, who goes by Vicky Thug, are both said to be getting Rs 20,000 a day. Neha Fathima is reportedly on Rs 15,000, and Gautham G Sasi on Rs 10,000, the lowest figure named in the report.
The four commoners in this season's house, Eldho George, Rakesh Jacob, Lolet Lorraine Rodrigues and Shijin S, were picked through a selection round called Agnipareeksha rather than cast as celebrities. Their pay hasn't been disclosed, and going by how the show has typically run in past seasons, commoners rarely get anywhere near celebrity rates.
None of these figures have come from the channel or the production house officially. They're being reported as insider numbers, and Bigg Boss shows across languages have a long history of these leaks running hot or cold depending on who's talking. What they do line up with is a pattern the show has leaned on for years now, where contestants openly credit their time in the house with clearing debts, building houses, funding new businesses. For a season where Rahul Easwar's game hasn't quite caught fire and Gayathri's own run started with an exit, the pay chart is turning into its own subplot. Whether either number holds up once the season wraps and eliminations start biting into those per-day totals is the thing to watch now.
