Two days into her captaincy, Jasila Parveen already has a section of the Bigg Boss Malayalam fandom questioning her judgement.
Jasila was named the first captain of Season 8, a role that came with real power inside the house and two co-contestants pledged to follow her lead. Fans expected the opening captain to set the tone for the season. Instead, notes circulating in Bigg Boss fan groups and picked up by Oneindia Malayalam suggest her early calls have done the opposite.
The first flashpoint: her decision to evict Gayathri Suresh. According to the fan posts, this marked the first time in the show's run that a contestant has gone out on just the second day, and it happened against what viewers wanted. Critics argue Jasila could have used the fact that no one from the opposing side spoke up during the eviction call to make her case publicly, and didn't.
Then came the water problem. One morning, the house reportedly ran short of water for even basic needs, a crisis that fell squarely in the captain's lap to solve. Jasila had access to a fund of Rs 1 lakh handed to her earlier for exactly this kind of situation. Fan accounts say she failed to act on it in time, and Bigg Boss itself had to step in and hand out bottled water as a stopgap.
The fan group post making the rounds goes further, listing what it calls a string of missed opportunities. Jasila reportedly spent barely half of the Rs 1 lakh on piped water when several housemates, sources say, actually preferred a hand pump. She's also accused of ignoring a warning from Bigg Boss that holding on to captaincy takes more than just saving money. And when a re-election was called for, the same posts argue, it exposed that she wanted to keep the post regardless of how the eviction call had landed with the house.
Not everyone is writing her off. The same discourse notes that fellow contestant Sumesh pushed hard to keep Jasila in the running, even though he'd barely weighed in on any of the actual decisions until then. And there's an acknowledgment that a rival like Mridula could simply be more prepared for the role, rather than Jasila being uniquely unfit for it.
