The celebrity chef and partner Alan Bersten landed at the bottom of the leaderboard for the second straight week before elimination on Tuesday's viral hits episode.
Giada De Laurentiis is done dancing. The Food Network chef and her partner Alan Bersten got sent home from Dancing With The Stars season 35 on Tuesday, closing out an episode built around "Viral Hits Night" — routines set to the songs that have owned everyone's For You page this year.
De Laurentiis and Bersten scored a 12 out of 30 for their Salsa to Becky G's "Bella Ciao," tying at the bottom with Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson, whose Paso Doble to Rihanna's "Where Have You Been" landed the same score. Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess rounded out the bottom three named in danger by co-hosts Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro, but it was De Laurentiis who got the boot.
At the top, three pairs tied for the week's best mark of 21. Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy hit a Jive to KATSEYE's "Animal," Paralympic gold medalist Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach went with a Cha Cha to Flo Rida's "Low," and figure skating Olympic champion Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov ran a Tango to "All the Things She Said." Right behind them, Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas pulled a 19 for their Cha Cha to Earth, Wind & Fire's "September."

What the cameras missed
Page Six had a floor seat for the taping and reported a few things the broadcast skipped past. Miller, still dealing with fallout from her Summer House split from West Wilson and a falling-out with Amanda Batula, got a standing ovation and told the crowd afterward, "One time a broke boy ruined my life. Or he tried. But we're here tonight, so it didn't work." Higgins reportedly covered her ears during her pre-taped interview package to avoid hearing herself before dancing, a trick outlet described as common among contestants trying to keep their nerve. And Chmerkovskiy, who went viral last season for his glide across the floor with Alix Earle, apparently had a full reaction moment when Rodriguez borrowed his signature knee-walk move mid-Paso Doble.
Elimination now leaves twelve couples standing. Season 35 had already lost Conner Leavitt and Sarah Jane Nader across the two-night premiere the week before, so De Laurentiis and Bersten make it the third pairing out inside a fortnight.
The show moves to a Yacht Rock theme next Tuesday at 8 pm ET on ABC and Disney+, with a Mariah Carey tribute and a Grammys-themed night still to come this season. Whether Dewan, Frech or Glenn can hold their early pace through a genre swing is the thing to watch. Cameron and Rodriguez, meanwhile, go into next week already having been named in danger once.
