Fifty-one days in, and Hanuman Ansh is still finding gears nobody expected it to have left.
The film pulled in Rs 5.68 crore on Saturday, a jump of 139.66% over Friday's Rs 2.37 crore, according to figures reported by Bollywood Hungama. That kind of single-day swing is normal for a week-one release riding a holiday. It is not normal for something in its eighth week of release.
The cumulative India nett now stands at Rs 289.71 crore. Do the math and the film needs another Rs 10.29 crore to touch Rs 300 crore, a number that felt like science fiction for a title this far removed from its opening weekend.
Sunday's numbers aren't in yet. But if Saturday's bounce carries over even partially, the landmark could fall before the weekend is done, or within a day or two after.
What's actually happening here is worth sitting with for a second. Most films complete their theatrical life in three, maybe four weeks before word of mouth dries up and screens get handed over to whatever's releasing next. Hanuman Ansh has now done seven full weeks and is still capable of doubling its business from one day to the next. That's not a long tail. That's a film that theatres clearly still want to run, and audiences clearly still want to watch.
The why is less documented than the what. Bollywood Hungama's reporting doesn't get into which markets are driving the Saturday spike or whether specific circuits are re-adding shows, just the topline numbers. So take the staying-power story at face value for now, it's the collections that are talking, not any studio statement or trade breakdown of screen counts.
What is clear is the trajectory. A film that opened, built, presumably dipped somewhere in the middle of its run the way almost everything does, and is now mounting a second life deep into its release window. Crossing Rs 300 crore would put Hanuman Ansh in a bracket that very few titles reach at all, let alone reach on the back of a Day 51 surge rather than a Day 1 rush.
For now the number to watch is Sunday's collection. If it holds anywhere close to Saturday's pace, the Rs 300 crore mark isn't a matter of if. It's a matter of which day this week gets circled as the one when Hanuman Ansh officially became one of 2026's defining box-office stories rather than just one of its steadiest.
