Hanuman Ansh, the low-budget devotional drama that defied expectations to cross Rs 400 crore worldwide on a reported budget of just Rs 2 crore, has finally secured its Telugu release date: October 9, 2026. The announcement comes after weeks of uncertainty and a major shift in distribution — Hombale Films, the Kannada production and distribution house behind KGF and Salaar, has taken over the Telugu rollout. This marks a departure from earlier plans, when Trivikram Srinivas was expected to present the film under his Fortune Four Cinemas banner. According to a source close to the filmmaker, the deal fell through, prompting the change. The original September 18 release date was quietly dropped, with no public explanation, and even a planned teaser launch event in Hyderabad was cancelled at the last minute. Now, Hombale Films has confirmed the new date via social media, sharing the first Telugu poster and declaring the film’s “divine brilliance” will be seen across the world on October 9. The film, directed by Vishal Chaturvedi and based on the life of Neem Karoli Baba, opened in Hindi on August 7 with a modest Rs 10 lakh collection. But strong word-of-mouth led to a rapid expansion across India, eventually earning over Rs 300 crore domestically and topping Rs 400 crore globally. It had already been released overseas on September 11, a month after its Indian debut. The Telugu version now arrives amid fresh competition: Trivikram Srinivas’ own directorial, Adarsha Kutumbam, is also set for release on October 9. The clash is unavoidable, one man’s exit from the project coincides with another man’s entry into theatres. Whether Hanuman Ansh can replicate its Hindi success in Telugu markets remains to be seen. But with Hombale Films at the helm, the film enters the regional arena with a proven track record of handling high-impact releases. The question isn’t just about box office numbers anymore. It’s about momentum, timing, and who gets the spotlight on a day when two big names collide.
