Dancing With the Stars just spent two nights sorting its Season 35 cast into winners, strugglers and one couple headed home, and the pecking order that's emerged is more interesting than the elimination itself.

Maura Higgins, the Traitors alum, and partner Mark Ballas grabbed the top score of Wednesday's women's night with a 21 out of 30 for their Foxtrot to Alannah Myles' "Black Velvet." That matched the 21 Glee's Harry Shum Jr. And partner Jenna Johnson put up the night before with a Cha Cha to Earth, Wind & Fire's "Let's Groove" — meaning the show now has co-leaders from opposite premiere nights before a single joint leaderboard even exists.

The theme both nights was chart-toppers from the year each celebrity was born, which is how Julia Stiles ended up doing a Quickstep to Dolly Parton's "9 to 5." It landed as a tribute nobody asked for but everyone noticed, coming a month after Parton's death at 80 following a short cancer battle. Stiles and partner Ezra Sosa scored 18.

At the other end of Wednesday's scores sat Tatyana Ali, the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air veteran, whose Jive with Jan Ravnik to Amii Stewart's "Knock on Wood" pulled just a 12. Co-hosts Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro named Ali and celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis, nursing what Page Six described as a busted toe from rehearsals. As the two couples in the bottom-two danger zone before Sarah Jane Nader's name was called.

Nader, who fronts Love Thy Nader, and pro partner Hailey Bills scored a 14 for their Jive to Avril Lavigne's "Sk8er Boi" and were sent home at the close of the show, becoming the first female celebrity eliminated this season.

She wasn't the first elimination. That happened Tuesday, on men's night, when Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Conner Leavitt and partner Adele Zaikman, herself a winner of DWTS: The Next Pro. Got the boot. His wife Whitney posted afterward that she was "f, king proud" of him, adding she hoped the exit wouldn't overshadow what he'd pulled off. Jimmy Kimmel Live's Guillermo Rodriguez and comedian Connor Wood had also been named in Tuesday's danger zone but survived.

Other Wednesday scores: Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy got a 19 for their Tango to Blondie's "Call Me," Olympic gold medalist Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov scored 18 for a Cha Cha to Santana's "Smooth," De Laurentiis and Alan Bersten got 16 for a Tango to "Venus," and Summer House's Ciara Miller with Brandon Armstrong took 15 for a Foxtrot to Whitney Houston's "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)."

The two-night premiere event is now done. Season 35 moves to its regular Tuesday 8 p.m. ET slot on ABC and Disney+, streaming on Hulu the next day, with a full combined leaderboard and a real vote on the line for the first time.
