Both films posted Tuesday gains after a weekend-to-weekday dip, with Mirzapur The Movie's third week holding firmer than most expected and Resident Evil clawing back from a sharp Monday fall.
Tuesday turned out to be a decent day for two very different films running in theatres right now. Mirzapur The Movie, now deep into its third week, added Rs 2.01 crore to push its total domestic collection past Rs 206 crore, landing at Rs 206.25 crore. Resident Evil, still fresh off its opening weekend, climbed 15.49% over Monday to hit Rs 11.84 crore on Day 5.
Start with Mirzapur. The film's third Monday had come in at Rs 1.72 crore, a steep 55.09% drop from Sunday's Rs 3.83 crore, which is the usual weekend-to-weekday correction every film goes through. Tuesday's Rs 2.01 crore reverses that slide with a 16.86% jump, and it's a sign the film still has legs three weeks in.
The bigger picture here is the run so far. Bollywood Hungama's numbers put the opening day at Rs 24.47 crore, the opening weekend at Rs 90.95 crore, and the first week total at Rs 143.57 crore. The second week closed at Rs 192.32 crore. The third week itself opened at Rs 2.43 crore on Friday, jumped 49.38% to Rs 3.63 crore on Saturday, edged up another 5.51% on Sunday to Rs 3.83 crore, then dipped and recovered through the weekdays that followed.
One stat worth flagging: the film's third Monday number reportedly made it the fourth highest third-Monday grosser of 2026, ahead of Dhamaal 4. For a film already past the Rs 200 crore mark and well into its third week, that's not a small thing. Most films this deep into a run are fighting to stay above water on weekdays. Mirzapur is still finding room to climb.
Resident Evil closes in on Rs 12 crore
Resident Evil's story is shorter but the shape is familiar. The horror film opened on Friday with Rs 2.18 crore, then jumped 44.04% on Saturday to Rs 3.14 crore before a marginal 2.23% dip on Sunday to Rs 3.07 crore. That gave it an opening weekend of Rs 8.78 crore.
Monday hurt, with collections falling 53.75% to Rs 1.42 crore, the standard weekday drop every new release absorbs. Tuesday brought the recovery, up 15.49% to Rs 1.64 crore, with 3,649 shows running across 1,677 venues and occupancy sitting at 14.85%, per Bollywood Hungama's tracking.
With Rs 11.84 crore in the bank, Resident Evil is just Rs 0.16 crore short of the Rs 12 crore mark, a number it should clear without much drama on Wednesday. The real test is whether this Tuesday bounce holds through the rest of the week or whether Monday's fall was closer to the film's true weekday pace. Both films will report Wednesday numbers in the next cycle, and that's where the real trend lines start to show.
