MrBeast landed at the Ramayana red carpet this week and walked away with a group photo featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Ravi Dubey, director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra. He posted the picture himself, tagging the cast and crew with a short caption: "Had a great time at the Ramayana red carpet:D"

That's the good news out of the event. The other story, according to Bollywood Hungama, is messier. The outlet reported that several journalists walked out of the same red carpet after a wait stretching past three and a half hours, with the delay reportedly leaving the media present frustrated. Whether that friction had anything to do with accommodating a YouTuber with a global following isn't clear from what's been reported so far, and the makers haven't addressed it publicly.

Either way, the Ramayana promotional machine is running at full speed. The trailer and posters dropped recently, and anticipation has only built since. This is Nitesh Tiwari's attempt at putting the epic on IMAX screens at a scale Hindi cinema hasn't really tried before. Ranbir Kapoor plays Ram, Sai Pallavi is Sita, Yash takes on Ravana, Sunny Deol plays Hanuman and Ravi Dubey is Lakshman. It's a cast list built to travel across markets, and the release plan matches that ambition.

Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios is producing, working alongside DNEG — the eight-time Oscar-winning visual effects house, and Yash's own Monster Mind Creations. The film releases in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, and it's coming as two parts. Part one is set for Diwali 2026, part two follows a year later at Diwali 2027. That's a long runway for a franchise riding on this much scale and this much star power, and it means the promotional cycle MrBeast just walked into is only getting started.

For MrBeast, this is one stop on an India visit that's clearly been generating its own headlines separate from Ramayana. For the Ramayana team, getting a creator with his reach to post about the film, unprompted and in his own words, is the kind of reach money usually has to buy. Whether that translates into curiosity beyond his own audience is the open question. But the bigger test isn't a red carpet appearance. It's whether the trailer's promise holds up when part one actually opens this Diwali, and whether by then anyone's still talking about how long that red carpet ran.
