Three cops, three languages, one actor refusing to repeat herself. Parvathy Thiruvothu is currently spread across Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar, Daayra and Dhootha 2, and in each she is playing a police officer who has almost nothing in common with the other two, according to a report by Bollywood Hungama.

Start with Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar, the Malayalam film where she plays Aleena Abraham, a constable who joins the force after losing her husband and ends up tangled in a custodial death case. No swagger, no big entrance scene. Just a woman who is watchful, a little unsure of herself, and sharper than anyone around her gives her credit for. The film has reportedly done well at the box office, and Parvathy's restraint in it has been singled out for praise.

Then there's the one where she never actually appears on screen. In Daayra, Parvathy lends her Malayalam voice to Kareena Kapoor Khan's cop character, which is a different kind of performance altogether. You're not building a face or a walk. You're matching someone else's pauses, her exact pitch, the specific way she lands a line, and doing it in another language entirely. It's the sort of work that goes unnoticed when it's done well, which is probably the point.

And then Dhootha 2, where she's back as DCP Kranthi Shenoy, a role she's already played once. This is the loud version. Authority, control, the kind of cop who runs a room the moment she walks in. She shares the screen again with Naga Chaitanya, and Parvathy is currently shooting for the series.

The range is the story

Line the three up and the gap between them is the whole point. A woman finding her footing. A voice doing all the acting work with none of the visuals. A DCP who's clearly done this a hundred times. Same profession, three different women, and Parvathy doesn't seem interested in letting any of them bleed into the other. It's a decent argument for what versatility actually looks like on paper, not just a different costume but a different register entirely.

Her schedule isn't slowing down either. Beyond Dhootha 2, she's attached to Hrithik Roshan's production Strom for Amazon Prime Video, with more projects reportedly in the pipeline that haven't been announced yet.

So the question now isn't whether Parvathy can play a cop. She's proven that three times over in three different industries. It's what she does next that doesn't involve a badge.
