Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana: Part One has crossed ₹400 crore worldwide in just four days, overtaking the lifetime global earnings of Adipurush — its 2023 predecessor in the mythological space. The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and released on November 5 for Diwali 2026, stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana.

By Sunday afternoon, November 8, it had grossed ₹182.70 crore net in India and ₹375.50 crore worldwide in its first three days. On its fourth day, the film pushed past ₹400 crore globally, surpassing Adipurush’s total of ₹393 crore, a figure that included a reported budget of around ₹600 crore and widespread criticism over dialogue, visual effects, and tone.

Ramayana’s performance is seen as a strong commercial and critical rebound in the genre. The film’s ensemble cast includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, Arun Govil, Lara Dutta, Rakul Preet Singh, Vivek Oberoi, Kunal Kapoor, Kajal Aggarwal, Sheeba Chadha, Indira Krishnan, Shobana, Anupam Kher, Saurabh Sachdeva, and Shishir Sharma.

Produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with DNEG, eight-time Oscar winners, and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the two-part epic features music by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer, both Oscar-winning composers. This marks Ranbir Kapoor’s fifth theatrical release since the pandemic. His previous films include Shamshera (₹63.74 crore), Brahmastra (₹430.24 crore), Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar (₹221.28 crore), and Animal (₹910.72 crore), which remains his highest-grossing film.

Before Ramayana, his post-COVID total stood at ₹1,625.98 crore. With the new film’s ₹385.15 crore contribution in three days, his cumulative post-COVID earnings now reach ₹2,011.13 crore worldwide, officially placing him in the 2,000 crore club among Bollywood stars, joining Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, Ajay Devgn, and Akshay Kumar.

The film is expected to continue strong through the festive season, with trade sources suggesting it could add another ₹1,000 crore if momentum holds. Ramayana Part 2 is scheduled for release on Diwali 2028. The next target? ₹3,000 crore. The numbers are rising, but the real test lies in how long the audience stays engaged.
