Nobody from the Pralay camp has said anything official yet, but the internet has already seen enough. Clips and photographs from the shoot, showing Ranveer Singh with a full beard and hair well past his collar, are doing the rounds since Monday, and the reaction has been instant.

In one clip, Ranveer is seen walking with a group of other actors, a child slung on his back. It's not a red-carpet reveal, it's a leak, and it shows exactly what the title suggests it should: someone caught in the middle of something falling apart.

The comparisons to Dhurandhar started within minutes. Fair enough, the beard and the shaggy hair do echo his look from that film. But Pralay is its own thing, built around a different story, and nothing about his actual character here has been confirmed by the makers. Bollywood Hungama, which broke the visuals, was careful to flag that the two projects shouldn't be read as one and the same, rugged look or not.

What we do know, according to reports, is thin but specific. Jai Mehta, Hansal Mehta's son, is directing. The film is said to be a survival story set in Mumbai, unfolding against some kind of end-of-the-world crisis, with its characters trying to stay alive as the city around them comes apart. That's about as much plot as anyone's given out. No logline, no synopsis, nothing from the studio confirming the premise beyond what's being reported.

Ranveer isn't just fronting this one. He's also producing, with Birla Studios, True Story Films and Maa Kasam Films jointly backing the project. That's three production banners on a film nobody's officially unveiled yet, which tells you the scale being planned even if the story details are still under wraps.

The other name attached is Kalyani Priyadarshan, fresh off the attention Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra brought her way outside Malayalam cinema. Her pairing with Ranveer is being pitched as a genuine crossover moment, a Malayalam star stepping into a big Hindi production with real producer backing behind her co-star.

For now, though, all anyone has is a beard, some long hair and a kid on a back. The making of Pralay is clearly underway, shooting has started, and the visuals are already shaping the conversation before the makers have released a single official still. Whether that's by design or bad luck for the production team, hard to say. What comes next, presumably, is an actual announcement, maybe a poster, maybe a first-look that isn't smuggled out on someone's phone. Until then, the internet will keep zooming into blurry frames trying to guess who that child on Ranveer's back actually is.
