Shah Rukh Khan picked a side on Tuesday, and it was his own.

During an AskSRK session on X held on Ganesh Chaturthi, a fan asked the actor the question that's been sitting on every trade desk's mind since King and Avengers: Doomsday landed on the same date: which one would AbRam watch first? SRK's answer needed no translation. "Pehle to Baap hi ayega beta!!!" he wrote, telling his youngest that father comes before Marvel.

It's a small joke, but it lands because the calendar collision is real. King, directed by Siddharth Anand, is set for December 24, 2026, the same window Marvel has marked out for Doomsday. Whether that clash actually holds by the time both films get closer to release is anyone's guess, distributors have a habit of shuffling dates at the last minute, but for now SRK seems happy to play up the rivalry for laughs rather than dodge the question.

The session ran the full 100-day countdown to King's release, and Shah Rukh used it the way he usually does, mixing film talk with family trivia fans can't get enough of. Asked what if AbRam got to direct him for a day, SRK kept it two words: "Play Fortnite!" No elaboration needed, every parent of a gaming-age kid gets the joke immediately.

He was warmer when a fan asked what makes him smile no matter how rough the day gets. "My children children children all three of them. They are tooo sweet and funny!!" he wrote, folding Aryan, Suhana and AbRam into one answer without playing favourites.

Suhana's presence in King gives this round of AskSRK a slightly different flavour than past ones. She's not just the star kid fans ask about anymore, she's actually in the film, alongside Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi and Raghav Juyal. Produced by Gauri Khan, Siddharth Anand and Mamta Anand under Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, King has been building its promotional drip slowly, and these AskSRK sessions have become part of that rhythm rather than a one-off.

SRK closed the thread with the sign-off he tends to reach for, thanking fans for showing up, wishing everyone a happy Ganapati, and promising to see them "in the cinema halls." Which cinema hall, King's or Doomsday's, is still a few months and a lot of trailers away from being settled. December 24 will tell.
