A car linked to Ammy Virk's convoy was fired at in Abbotsford, British Columbia, on the night of September 5, right after the Punjabi singer and actor wrapped a concert there. Nobody was hurt. That's the one thing everyone agrees on.

The rest of the picture is still coming together, and it's coming from a single thread that Indian outlets have picked up rather than confirmed independently. Canadian outlet Voice Online first reported the shooting, citing Abbotsford Police, and Bollywood Hungama and The Free Press Journal have both run with that account. According to the report, initial information points to a dark-coloured SUV from which people fired several shots at the targeted vehicle. Abbotsford Police patrol officers have confirmed that a shooting did take place.

What makes this stranger is who was reportedly inside. Sources cited by Voice Online say the car that took the hits was bullet-proof, and that Virk was travelling in it along with the show's promoter at the time. If accurate, that raises the obvious question of whether this convoy was specifically targeted rather than caught up in something random. Nobody has answered that yet. There's no confirmed motive, no named suspect, and no group has been linked to the incident in any official capacity.

Virk himself hasn't said a word about it. His Instagram in the days since shows no acknowledgement of any shooting, attack or security scare. On Tuesday he posted from Vancouver, where he played what he called the final date of his Unity Tour. "Thank you so much Vancouver ❤️(BC) Hope you guyz liked that show.. That was our last show of unity tour," he wrote, before a longer note in Punjabi thanking his musicians, his production team and his promoter for the run, and admitting there'd been mistakes along the way that he'd try to fix going forward.

That gap between what's being reported out of Abbotsford and what Virk is posting himself is doing a lot of work here. It could mean the situation is being handled quietly while an investigation runs. It could also mean the story needs more reporting before anyone treats it as settled. Abbotsford Police haven't put out their own statement laying out what they know, at least not one that's surfaced in this reporting, and everything currently circulating traces back to the same portal.

Virk had a full year on screen, with Bambukat 2 and Chardi Kalan both releasing in 2026, but he doesn't have a new film officially locked in right now. Whether this incident affects his upcoming Canada dates, or any part of his schedule, isn't clear either, since his tour appears to have already wrapped with that Vancouver show.

For now, the shooting remains under investigation, Virk remains publicly silent on it, and everyone's waiting on Abbotsford Police to say more than "a shooting took place."
