Siddharth Anand is back at it. Just after midnight on October 29, the King director posted two words on X: "Time For The World." No context, no hashtag, nothing. It followed an even sparser post from a few days earlier that simply read "It's", and between the two of them, fans of Shah Rukh Khan now have a full-blown mystery on their hands, according to Bollywood Hungama.

The timing isn't subtle. Khan turns 60 on November 2, and if there's a pattern Anand has followed before, it's dropping things at odd hours and letting the internet do the rest. So far he hasn't confirmed what either post refers to. That's the whole game. Is "Time For The World" the back half of a sentence that started with "It's"? Is there a poster, a trailer, a release-date nudge sitting ready to drop on the birthday itself? Nobody knows, and Anand clearly isn't in a hurry to say.

What we do know is what King actually is. Directed by Anand and produced by Gauri Khan through Red Chillies Entertainment along with Marflix Pictures, it's being pitched as an international action thriller with Khan playing the title role, an assassin whose underworld life collides with something a lot more personal. The tagline that's been doing the rounds, "Qaatil Nahi.. Aashiq Hoon," gives away the tonal mix Anand is going for: hardware and heartbreak in the same frame.

The cast list is stacked. Suhana Khan has a lead role in the film, not a cameo, which has been one of the bigger talking points since casting news first broke. Abhishek Bachchan plays the antagonist. Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat and Raghav Juyal round out an ensemble that mixes supporting parts with what's being described as special appearances.

On the technical side, Red Chillies VFX is handling the visual effects, and the production has brought in international stunt choreography for the action set pieces, a scale consistent with Anand's recent run of big-canvas thrillers.

King is currently set for a worldwide theatrical release on December 24, 2026, slotting it into the Christmas weekend, historically one of the most competitive windows on the Hindi film calendar. A film carrying this much weight, with a cast this expensive, needs every bit of pre-release noise it can generate, and two cryptic tweets from its director are doing exactly that job.

Whether November 2 actually brings a trailer, a poster, or just another one-liner from Anand remains an open question. But with the birthday two days out and the midnight posts already stacking up, the clock is very much the point.
