Sivakarthikeyan has declared war on subtlety. At a fan meet on October 7, the actor dropped a blunt manifesto: no more introspective roles, no more slow burns. From now on, he’s only doing mass entertainers — and his next two films, Seyon and SK27, are the first salvo. The message was delivered with zero ambiguity: ‘Hereafter I will only do mass entertainers. Full entertainment.’ No caveats. No apologies. Just a promise backed by his brothers Sivakumar Murugesan and Ramkumar. They, apparently, demanded he say it. So he did. And fans? They’re already lining up. 60% of Seyon is wrapped, songs done, key sequences shot, action still pending. The film, directed by Sivakumar Murugesan and produced by Raaj Kamal Films International in association with Turmeric Media, stars Bhagyashri Borse as the lead, Raj B. Shetty in a pivotal role, and is set for a Pongal 2027 release. Meanwhile, SK27. Helmed by Parking director Ramkumar Balakrishnan, has officially begun shooting. The opening sequence is in the can, a song is being filmed, and Kayadu Lohar steps into the female lead role. Sai Abhyankkar handles the music, while Sudhakar and George Maryan round out the cast. The shift comes after Parasakthi, his last outing, underperformed at the box office. That film, directed by Sudha Kongara and co-starring Ravi Mohan, Sreeleela, and Atharvaa Murali, didn’t ignite the expected spark. Now, SK is betting everything on spectacle. No more soul-searching. No more quiet moments. Just loud, unapologetic fun. The question isn’t whether he’ll deliver. It’s whether audiences still want that kind of cinema. But one thing’s certain: the man’s not backing down. And if you’re waiting for a change of heart, don’t hold your breath. The next reel’s already rolling.
