Sooraj Pancholi has decided he's done staying quiet. Hours after news broke that the CBI had registered an FIR in the death case of Disha Salian, the former manager to Sushant Singh Rajput, the actor put out a statement on social media addressing years of speculation tying his name to the case.

His message was blunt. He says he has never met Disha Salian, in person or through any intermediary, and he has never met Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray either. "I have never met Late Disha Salian in my life, directly or indirectly. I have also never met Aditya Thackeray in my life!" he wrote, according to a report in The Free Press Journal.

Sooraj framed this as long overdue. He said his name has kept resurfacing in media coverage and public statements around Disha's death for several years now, and that he'd largely chosen not to engage because he didn't want to respond to every article written about him. The fresh FIR, he indicated, was the tipping point.

He also brought up his own history with the investigation. Sooraj says he was already questioned by both the police and the CBI, with his statement recorded roughly four to five years back. "I have nothing to hide," he wrote, adding that he remains open to cooperating further if any agency wants additional information from him or asks him to sit through another round of questioning.

Much of the post reads like an appeal for restraint. Sooraj called the repeated linking of his name to the case "unfair and upsetting," and pushed back at what he described as claims made without evidence. "A headline is not evidence. A debate is not evidence," he wrote, asking people to verify facts before drawing conclusions. He went further, urging authorities to look into what he called malicious propaganda and false narratives built around the case, and argued that a death shouldn't become grounds for damaging someone else's reputation without proof.

He ended on a note of faith in the process, saying he trusts the law and the agencies investigating the matter to eventually get to the truth.

None of this settles anything. The CBI's FIR is a fresh development in a case that has stayed unresolved and politically charged since 2020, and Sooraj's denial is exactly that, a denial, not a verdict. What happens next depends on where the CBI's investigation goes and whether it calls him back in. For now, his statement stands as his position on record, nothing more.
