Two Telugu trade trackers offered opposite reads on Nani's film's midweek hold, depending on which ticketing platforms they counted.
Nani's "The Paradise" crossed the Rs 155 crore worldwide gross mark by Monday, but the two big Telugu trade trackers can't agree on whether the film's midweek business held up or wobbled.
123telugu, citing BookMyShow numbers, reported the film sold 72.58K tickets on Monday, its lowest single-day sale on that platform since release, and used the figure to draw a pointed comparison. Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia's "The Vvaan," which opened a day after Nani's film, moved 117.36K tickets on BookMyShow the same day, more than the multilingual "The Paradise" managed on that one platform.
Telugu360 told a different story. Combining BookMyShow and District sales, the outlet put The Paradise's Monday count at 1.13 lakh-plus tickets, calling the weekday hold notable for a working day and pointing to strong first and second show occupancy in Hyderabad and across the Nizam region, with Andhra Pradesh also holding steady.
Both figures can technically be true at once. One tracks a single app for Monday. The other folds in a second ticketing platform, and District has become a real chunk of southern multiplex bookings this year. Depending on which number a trade site leads with, Nani's film either dipped hard on its first working day or shrugged the weekend off entirely.
What isn't in dispute is The Vvaan's trajectory. Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and backed by Ektaa Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor's production house, the film is closing in on the Rs 50 crore nett mark domestically. That's a solid number for a Hindi release that opened a day behind a much bigger Telugu film and had to fight for the same weekend screens.
The Paradise, directed by Srikanth Odela, had the bigger opening and the bigger total, and Monday was always going to test whether that weekend crowd was front-loaded or the start of a longer run. The Nizam and Andhra Pradesh circuits reportedly stayed steady, per Telugu360's account, which if accurate would matter more for the film's final tally than any single day's BookMyShow figure alone.
The two readings should get sorted soon enough. Tuesday and Wednesday numbers, once trackers reconcile BookMyShow and District data the way they usually do by midweek, will settle whether The Paradise is genuinely cooling or whether Monday's BookMyShow dip was just one platform's slice of a bigger picture. Either way, both films head into their second full week still adding to very different starting totals, one already past Rs 155 crore worldwide, the other pushing toward its first Rs 50 crore milestone.
