Urvashi and Jagadish are back — not as a pair of lovers, but as two people circling each other in silence. The first look for Room No: 9, a film written and directed by debutant Jay Mohan, dropped Thursday, and with it came the quiet shock of reunion: the Malayalam screen’s most iconic duo, separated by three decades, stepping into the same frame again.
Not as stars of a rom-com or a family drama, but as figures moving toward one another on opposite sides of a staircase, Urvashi descending, Jagadish ascending. The poster says nothing about love. It says everything about distance. And time.
And what happens when you walk past someone you once knew so well, without speaking. The film is produced by Vilas Kumar under Cinematic Dreams, with cinematography by Faisal Ali, editing by Ranjan Abraham, and music by Kailas Menon and Sankar Sharma. Details remain scarce. But the fact that this pairing has been revived at all.
