But on timelines built for exactly this kind of moment, that's more than enough.

The backdrop is a car race, not a film event. Vijay flagged off a Michelin Le Mans Cup race at Silverstone during what was reported as an official visit to London that began on the 10th, part of what sources described as an interest in bringing motorsport infrastructure back to Tamil Nadu. Ajith Kumar, who has spent recent years more invested in his AK Racing team than in film sets, was competing in the same race. His team finished third.

The two of them meeting was the actual story here, at least going in. Ajith greeted Vijay with folded hands as he arrived at the circuit. Vijay, by most accounts far less formal about it, ran up, hugged him and planted a kiss on his shoulder before getting on with flagging off the race. Two actors who spent a long stretch of their careers positioned as rivals, now on entirely different tracks, sharing an easy hug in front of a crowd of London's Tamil diaspora who'd shown up just to watch that handshake happen.

Trisha's presence at the circuit is where it gets messier. Filmibeat Tamil reported that sections of Vijay's fan base have made no secret of not wanting her around whenever he travels, and that sentiment reportedly followed her to Silverstone too. She turned up anyway, watched the race like everyone else, and would have been a footnote if not for that one clip.

The reading fans have settled on, going by comments circulating under the video, is that Vijay's turn was really about not wanting to be seen next to Trisha at all, given she's also worked with Ajith on screen. It's a theory built entirely on a two-second gap between two frames, and it says more about how closely fans watch these things than about what actually happened at that gallery rail.

Worth noting, other clips from the same event reportedly show Vijay, Trisha and actor Adhav Arjuna walking around the circuit together, unbothered. Whether that undercuts the turned-face theory or just adds another layer to it depends entirely on which video you watched first.
