The film’s final verdict clears the Salgaonkars of all charges, declaring the case against them officially closed. No evidence remains to link them to the death of Sameer Deshmukh, the son of Goa’s IG Meera and Mahesh Deshmukh.
The court accepts Vijay’s version of events: that the killing was an accident, triggered when Nandini Salgaonkar struck Sam during a heated argument after he recorded her daughter Anju. With no proof of intent or concealment, the law lets them walk free. They are no longer suspects. They are no longer under scrutiny.
They are at peace. Or so it seems. The moment the gavel falls, the screen cuts to Meera Deshmukh, quiet, composed, eyes fixed on nothing and everything. The story has moved beyond the Malayalam original. It stands alone, independent, with loose threads still fluttering. The writer Murad’s line. ‘Vijay Ki Kahani Mein Aage Kya Hoga, Ye Ya To Vijay Jaanta Hai Yaa Khuda!’, echoes through the silence. Is this really the end?
