Drishyam 3 hits Rs 352.75 crore India net, holds strong on Dussehra — but Jailer 2 is chasing it hard
Drishyam 3 has crossed the Rs 350 crore mark in India net collections, now standing at Rs 352.75 crore after 19 days in theatres — and it’s still drawing crowds on Dussehra, October 20. According to Sacnilk’s early tracking data, the film earned Rs 1.90 crore by 2 PM Tuesday, adding to its cumulative India net total.
Its worldwide gross is now Rs 548.22 crore, with overseas earnings contributing Rs 127.75 crore. The suspense thriller, directed by Abhishek Pathak and starring Ajay Devgn, continues to outperform expectations, even as it enters its fourth week. On its 18th day, it had already collected Rs 350.85 crore in India net, and the momentum hasn’t stalled.
By Tuesday morning, it added another Rs 4.32 crore, a figure that dwarfs the entire day’s collection of several new releases. That’s more than Prahaar and Nayyi Navelli combined for the full day. And yet, Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is closing in fast. The Tamil superstar’s sequel, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, released on October 15 and has been on a tear.
By Day 6, it had amassed Rs 269.03 crore in India net, with a massive Rs 26.78 crore earned by 5 PM on Tuesday alone. Its global gross stands at Rs 477.75 crore, including Rs 194 crore from overseas markets. The film is officially on track to cross the Rs 500 crore global milestone.
Meanwhile, other Dussehra releases are struggling to keep pace. Rajkummar Rao’s Prahaar, which opened with an advance booking gross of Rs 1.55 crore, recorded a modest Rs 3.00 crore net across India by Day 5, bringing its total to Rs 14.15 crore. Yami Gautam’s horror-comedy Nayyi Navelli saw a strong lift on Vijayadashami, earning Rs 3.75 crore on Day 5 and pushing its India net to Rs 17.01 crore, with domestic gross crossing Rs 20 crore.
Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s Ranabaali rebounded on Tuesday, netting Rs 6.36 crore on Day 5, up from Rs 5.40 crore on Monday, and now sits at Rs 33.31 crore in India net, with worldwide gross surpassing Rs 50 crore. But none of them can match the staying power of Drishyam 3.
It’s not just surviving the festive clash, it’s outlasting it. A film that began its run nearly three weeks ago is still pulling in audiences like it’s opening weekend. The question isn’t whether it’ll cross Rs 400 crore. It already has.
The real debate now? What happens next. Is there a Drishyam 4? Or will the franchise end where it began, with a final, quiet win?
The box office says yes. The audience hasn’t walked out. Not yet.
