Jailer 2's Gulf box office collection reaches $6.41 million, placing it fourth among Indian films' biggest opening weekends in the region.
Jailer 2’s Gulf opening weekend has landed at $6.41 million — roughly ₹60.8 crore, according to industry tracker AB George, who shared the figures on X on Monday, October 19. That places the Rajinikanth-starrer fourth on the list of Indian films with the biggest opening weekends in the Gulf region.
The numbers come from a combined tally across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the broader GCC market. The UAE alone accounted for $4.46 million, making it the single largest contributor. Saudi Arabia added $695,000, while the GCC total stood at $1.255 million. These are reported estimates, not audited figures, and subject to revision as further data emerges.
The film, released worldwide on October 15, is now in its fifth day of theatrical run. It narrowly edges out Vijay’s Leo ($5.58 million) and Baahubali 2 ($5.55 million), but trails Pathaan ($7.93 million), Jawan ($7.42 million), and L2: Empuraan ($6.59 million). The gap between Jailer 2 and L2: Empuraan is just $190,000.
A razor-thin margin in global box office terms. The sequel, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced under Sun Pictures by Kalanithi Maran, follows the 2023 hit Jailer. Rajinikanth reprises his role as retired jailer Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. Returning cast members include Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa, and Rithvik.
New additions include S. J. Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Vidya Balan. Cameo appearances are made by Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Hrithik Roshan, Jackie Shroff, Vijay Sethupathi, and Vinayakan. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music, Vijay Kartik Kannan handled cinematography, and R. Nirmal was the editor. While the film’s domestic performance remains a focus, with trade sources already citing ₹500 crore worldwide in six days.
The Gulf numbers signal strong international momentum. Questions remain about the Tamil version’s release in North India’s PVR Inox chains, where no official rollout has been announced. But the numbers from the Gulf speak louder than any silence. This isn’t just a regional win.
It’s a benchmark. And Rajinikanth’s return is already being measured against the giants.
