Ten days in, and Mirzapur The Movie is still adding crore after crore. The film brought in Rs 13.25 crore net in India on Day 10, its second Sunday in theatres, taking the domestic net total to Rs 184.70 crore. Add overseas numbers and the worldwide gross now stands at Rs 266.04 crore, according to DNA India, which cited trade estimates.

That number matters beyond the round figure. It puts the film ahead of Bhooth Bangla, the Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan horror comedy that closed its run with Rs 182.36 crore net in India and Rs 265.91 crore worldwide. Mirzapur The Movie has now slipped past that lifetime tally in just over a week and a half, and with a second weekend still holding strong, there's clearly more to come.

The film's opening week was the real engine here. Rs 148 crore net across the first seven days is not a number most theatrical releases manage even with a full run, and the second weekend hasn't dropped off the way distributors usually brace for. India gross now sits at Rs 220.04 crore. Overseas, the film added another Rs 4 crore on Day 10, taking that column to Rs 46 crore.

Where does that leave Mirzapur The Movie in the pecking order for 2026? Fourth. It now trails only Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar 2, the Sunny Deol-Varun Dhawan multi-starrer Border 2, and the Neem Karoli Baba biopic Hanuman Ansh among the year's Bollywood grossers, per the same report. For a film built entirely on a streaming show's fan base, that's not a small feat. Prime Video's Mirzapur ran for three seasons before this theatrical spin-off, and going by these numbers, the audience made the jump from OTT to the box office without much resistance.

The cast that carried it

Pankaj Tripathi returns as Kaleen Bhaiya, the role that made the show a cultural fixture, alongside Ali Fazal's Guddu Pandit, Divyenndu as Munna Bhaiya, Ravi Kishan as Babban Yadav and Jitendra Kumar as Bablu Pandit. Rasika Dugal, Abhishek Banerjee, Rajesh Tailang, Sheeba Chaddha, Mohitt Maalik, Sonal Chauhan, Anangsha Biswas, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Sushant Singh round out a cast that reads like a reunion tour for anyone who followed the series through its streaming run.

Puneet Krishna wrote the film, Gurmmeet Singh directed it, and Excel Entertainment's Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar produced it. It's a fairly rare bet for the banner, a franchise extension of a web series rather than an original theatrical property, and it appears to have paid off.

The question now is how much runway is left. Second-weekend numbers this healthy usually mean a third weekend worth watching, especially with no major new release breathing down its neck just yet. Whether Mirzapur The Movie can close the gap on Hanuman Ansh, or even Border 2, will depend on how the weekday drop plays out over the coming week.
